Long Hai

The fishing village of Long Hai boasts pretty white sandy beaches and a microclimate that brings less rain than other parts of southern Vietnam. These are just some of the qualities that convinced Vietnam’s last emperor to have his private residence built here. Long Hai can be a peaceful spot to visit during the weekdays, before its sands are filled with weekend tourists on holiday to South Coast and Islands Vietnam.
Fishing boats moor at the western edge of Long Hai beach, while the eastern end is pretty with swaying palms rising from white sands. For more beautiful beach scenery, visitors should continue heading east. A rustic cluster of thatch-roof beachside restaurants serve Vietnamese cuisine alongside fresh seafood dishes. Visit during the fishermen’s pilgrimage festival to witness hundreds of boats arriving to worship at the Mo Co Temple. Arriving from Mui Ne, visitors are treated to a very scenic route complete with stunning beaches and the Ke Ga Lighthouse.
