Bangkok will surprise and entertain, sometimes frustrate the visitor but the experience of a visit will leave every tourist richer for the experience

Bangkok is a vibrant city that is a melting pot of cultures and traditions. As the capital of Thailand, it has something for everyone, whether you’re a history buff, a foodie, or a shopaholic. From its bustling street markets to its ancient temples, Bangkok is a city that never fails to surprise and delight visitors. One of the biggest draws of Bangkok is its rich history and cultural heritage. The city is home to countless ancient temples, including the Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew, and Wat Arun, also known as the Temple of the Dawn. These awe-inspiring temples are not only beautiful, but also offer a glimpse into Thai history and religion. Food is also an important part of Bangkok’s culture, and the city is known for its delicious street food. From the spicy noodles of the Chatuchak market to the sweet mango sticky rice sold by vendors on the street, there’s no shortage of delicious food to try in Bangkok. The city is also home to a thriving culinary scene, with countless restaurants offering traditional Thai dishes as well as international cuisine. Shopping is another popular pastime in Bangkok, and the city is home to a variety of markets, from the aforementioned Chatuchak market to the luxury boutiques of Siam Paragon. Whether you’re looking for a unique souvenir or a designer outfit, Bangkok is a shopper’s paradise. Aside from its many cultural attractions, Bangkok is also a hub of activity, with a lively nightlife scene and a plethora of bars, clubs, and live music venues. Whether you’re in the mood for a quiet night at a rooftop bar or an all-night dance party, Bangkok has something to offer. For those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, there are plenty of green spaces and natural areas to explore, such as the lush Lumphini Park and the scenic Khlongs (canals) that run through the city. There are also several Buddhist temples set amidst peaceful gardens and surrounded by serene lakes, such as Wat Benchamabophit and Wat Mahathat. Bangkok is a city that never fails to captivate its visitors, with its blend of ancient traditions and modern excitement. Whether you’re here for a quick visit or an extended stay, there’s always something new to discover in this vibrant and dynamic city.

Before the days when jet travel became the norm most people’s only experience of distant parts of Asia was in film and magazine.
One of the most exotic countries of the world is Thailand (formerly Siam) in the Indo China Peninsula of South East Asia.  The famous Rodgers and Hammerstein Broadway Show and film from the 1950s ‘The King and I’ was based upon the diaries of an English Governess working for the King of Siam in Bangkok in the 1860s. Bangkok has intrigued people ever since and holidays in Bangkok and Thailand are extremely popular. Bangkok will surprise and entertain, sometimes frustrate the visitor but the experience of a visit will leave every tourist richer for the experience.

Bangkok’s weather varies from hot and wet to warm and dry.

The temperature rarely falls below 20C at any time of the year and it can touch 40C at times. It can be stiflingly hot and therefore it is uncomfortable for people planning to do much exploring. When the monsoon comes it is difficult to plan any outdoor activities and certainly no one will want to be on the water day or night.Whatever the season, the weather can be a determining factor on what to do each day; a flexible itinerary is the best way to get the best out of a holiday in Thailand
