Abha

Known as the bride of the south Abha is a delightful and scenic destination

Like Taif, another summer destination popular for those living in Saudi Arabia is the southern city of Abha, perched 2200 m above sea level. Whilst mist, fog and rain might not appeal to tourists from Blighty, it is a real novelty for the vast majority of the Saudi population making it a busy place in the summer as locals flock to escape the summer heat. Stretching plains, green mountains, colourful heritage buildings, neat lawns, marigolds and mist that covers the air all make a startling impression.
